Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (OSHA Class III)

16-Hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (OSHA Class III)

This two-day, 16-hour course is designed (but not limited to) for maintenance and custodial staff whose work may involve disturbing small amounts of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) during routine or emergency maintenance activities. It satisfies OSHA’s Class III training requirement as a minimum standard for these workers.

Participants will learn about:

• The history and common uses of asbestos in buildings
• Asbestos Regulations
• Health effects of asbestos exposure
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) and engineering controls, including hands-on/practical exercises
• Response actions and safe work practices for small disturbances of ACM

If the anticipated work goes beyond routine maintenance—such as renovation projects, new system tie-ins, or work that cannot be contained within a single glove bag or waste bag (60″x60″ max)—additional AHERA-accredited training will be required.
