SUMMARY:Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (OSHA Class III)
DESCRIPTION:16-Hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (OSHA Class III)\nThis two-day\, 16-hour course is designed (but not limited to) for maintenance and custodial staff whose work may involve disturbing small amounts of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) during routine or emergency maintenance activities. It satisfies OSHA’s Class III training requirement as a minimum standard for these workers. \nParticipants will learn about: \n\nThe history and common uses of asbestos in buildings\nAsbestos Regulations\nHealth effects of asbestos exposure\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) and engineering controls\, including hands-on/practical exercises\nResponse actions and safe work practices for small disturbances of ACM\n\n\nIf the anticipated work goes beyond routine maintenance—such as renovation projects\, new system tie-ins\, or work that cannot be contained within a single glove bag or waste bag (60″x60″ max)—additional AHERA-accredited training will be required.
