DESCRIPTION:AHERA Project Designer Initial (24 Hours)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister For This Course\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis 3-day (24-hour) AHERA Project Designer Initial-accredited course fulfills EPA and Cal-OSHA requirements for individuals responsible for designing asbestos abatement projects in schools and public\, commercial\, or industrial buildings. It is a required course for those pursuing certification as a Cal-OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC). \nParticipants will learn to: \n\nDevelop detailed asbestos abatement plans and technical specifications\nDesign engineering controls and project phasing strategies\nAddress abatement in occupied buildings\nPrepare bid packages\, project drawings\, and response action schematics\nEvaluate conditions and select appropriate asbestos response options\nEstimate project costs and review contractor bids\nApply AHERA and Cal-OSHA regulations\, legal liability considerations\, and safety protocols\n\nHands-on exercises include reviewing project drawings and drafting abatement design based on real-world parameters. Students should be familiar with Contractor/Supervisor practices prior to attending\, though AHERA Contractor/Supervisor certification is not legally required. \nPrerequisite (Recommended): AHERA Contractor/Supervisor certification\nFull attendance is required to receive an AHERA Project Designer certificate.
