AHERA Management Planner Initial Certification training in Concord, CA Parra Environmental Bay AreaThe AHERA AMP Initial Certification course is a comprehensive, 2-day (16-hour) training designed for professionals responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing asbestos management plans. This course fulfills all EPA and OSHA requirements for management planners working in schools, commercial buildings, and public facilities. It is also a mandatory component for individuals pursuing Cal‑OSHA Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) credentials in California. Participants will learn how to analyze asbestos building survey data, conduct hazard assessments, and prioritize response actions based on material condition and occupancy. In addition, the course covers the selection of control strategies, development of site-specific Operations & Maintenance (O&M) plans, and compliance with federal and state recordkeeping regulations. By combining technical instruction with practical exercises, students gain real-world skills essential to managing asbestos safely and in full compliance with AHERA Title 40 CFR Part 763 and Cal‑OSHA Title 8 standards.

This course provides instruction on:

  • Interpreting asbestos building survey results
  • Performing hazard assessments and prioritizing response actions

  • Assembling and submitting compliant asbestos management plans

Students will apply this knowledge through interactive exercises, including reviewing actual management plans and drafting their own using AHERA protocols and response methodologies.

Prerequisite: The AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector course is required prior to taking the Management Planner course.
Full attendance is required to receive an AHERA Management Planner certificate
