DOSH Accredited AC Pipe Initial Training

In California, Asbestos Cement Pipe Initial Certification training is a legal requirement for many workers. At our Concord, CA training center, Parra Environmental offers a 4-hour, DOSH‑approved course that satisfies these standards.

According to Title 8 §341.17 and T8 CCR 1529(r), any employer whose workers may disturb more than 100 square feet of asbestos‑cement pipe must either register with the state or ensure those employees complete a state‑approved ACP training. By successfully completing this initial course, workers meet exemption criteria under pipe registration rules and gain the skills needed to handle ACP safely. In addition, the training covers essential safety procedures, containment strategies, and regulatory context, helping both employers and employees stay compliant. As a result, your workforce can operate with greater confidence, reduced liability, and a documented foundation in asbestos safety.

Course content includes:

• Characteristics and hazards of asbestos in cement pipe
• Safe handling methods and work practices specific to (A/C) Pipe
• Relevant OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations and exposure limits
• Two hours of CDPH safety credit for individuals certified in water distribution

Includes hands-on instruction with pipe mockups and standard tools (ex: snap cutter) used in the field.
